Recommendation: „World War One Through Arab Eyes“

In a three part series broadcasted on Aljazeera, Tunisian writer and broadcaster Malek Triki traces the history of the First World War through the perspective of the Arabic countries. Arab troops were forced to fight on both sides of the war. However, their story is often left out of the eurocentric narration of the war.

The first two episodes, which focus on the Arab troops in North Africa and the Ottoman Empire, are already available online. The third episode will air today, on December 2.
