The fourth WeberWorldCafé on “Globalisation during the Cold War: Culture, New Geopolitics and Che Guevara” took place at the Literaturcafé in Leipzig on November 16, 2015 in cooperation with the Centre for Area Studies Leipzig and the GIGA German Institute for Global and Area Studies. Experts and young scholars from various fields and the interested public analysed how much today’s world order was shaped by the Cold War era and its end, what role new social, political, and ecological movements, as well as regional and international organisations played in this era and which changes took place beyond a Eurocentric point of view.

The WeberWorldCafé blog links the digital possibilities of communication with the actual event of the WeberWorldCafés and creates an additional, digital space for open dialog. The aim of the WeberWorldCafé events is to discuss the transregional topics with manifold perspectives and thus bring together different academic impulses from various world regions.
